How do I see my location?

Edited

To show you how far away things are (and let you sort by distance away), along with your current location when on a trail, we need permission to use your current location.

Why?

  • find trails and peaks near you

  • get directions to trailheads

  • see your live position on trail and peak maps

so you can then:

  • find trails and peaks that are close to you

  • easily navigate to the start of a trail

  • navigate using our trail maps when on a trail

How?

  1. Either look for the browser prompt, or tap Use my location button that may appear when browsing for the first time.

  2. When your browser asks for permission, choose Allow.

If you blocked it earlier: click the lock icon next to the address, open Site settings, set Location to Allow, then refresh.

We don't store or share your location; it's only used for these features. You can continue without it, just without distance sorting and live map features.
